Wine: Maria Remírez de Ganuza
Varieties: 93% Tempranillo and 7% Graciano.
History of the wine: The best barrels from the winery and the best grapes from the La Coqueta vineyard, located on a south-facing slope very close to the winery, are selected for the production of this wine. With the aim of making the best wine, the barrels have been selected for their special finesse and quality. To the fermentation and aging control systems, already exhaustive in our winery, we must add in the case of this wine, an exceptional dedication and care. The total amount of sales of our María Remírez de Ganuza Reserva Especial is intended for charity. The 2003 and 2004 vintages were donated to the AECC (Spanish Association Against Cancer) to fund research projects. With the following two vintages, 2005 and 2006, an agreement has been reached to finance projects of the Down Syndrome Foundation.
