Description
Wine: Finca Butarós
Varieties: 60% Carignan and 40% Red Grenache.
Origin of the name: The FINCA BUTARÓS comes from a vineyard planted at the end of the 19th century on slate land in the Paratge de Butarós, at the northern end of the municipality of Garriguella in the direction of Vilamaniscle. The predominant varieties are Carignan and Red Grenache, and we also find strains of white varieties in between. The tree that decorates the label is a century-old server that is located in the middle of the estate and over the years has been tilted by the effects of the strong Tramuntana wind.
Alcohol: 14%
Type of soil: Slate.
Location: Paratge de Fontanilles.
Winery: Mas Llunes
Designation of Origin: DO Empordà
Elaboration: The grapes were carefully selected manually by harvesting each of the varieties separately at their optimum ripening time.
Fermentation was also performed separately in stainless steel tanks. Refrigerated at a temperature of 24ºC / 26ºC with a single daily rewind. Found 30-40 days after the start of fermentation depending on the variety. Finally, malolactic fermentation was preceded by the mating of the two varieties and aged for 1 year in French oak barrels and then 3 years in bottle.
Service: Serve at 16ºC.
